Forget about the LBD: if there is one thing to look for this autumn, it is the LBJ (little black jacket). Declined in every possible shape and material, it was in every collection. Yes, there is plenty of everything between red, orange and purple – but black is more than omnipresent. Subtle touches of black fur pop everywhere, while black leather remains essential.
Black also adorns ‘silhouetted’ jewelry, that of Fannie Schiavoni, but also Fyodor Golan’s gorgeous white and black dress. Some designers look at both sci-fi and interior design (Jean Pierre Braganza), some think about ethic issues, others play with sophisticated prints (Georgia Hardinge, Teatum Jones, Matthew Miller).
It was nice also a good opportunity to see the work of the clients represented by Agency V, who brought a Scandinavian flair to the day.
All in all? Eclecticism. A concept that ties rather nicely with the view upon Nicholas Hawksmoor’s St. Georges Bloomsbury from the window of the third floor.
p.s.: bag of the season? Rectangular black and silver/gold clutch.
