The world’s first diamond ring

The world's first diamond ring

Ambition and dream: those were the concepts behind Shawish Fine Jewellery’s extraordinary concept, that of a diamond ring entirely made from one single faceted diamond. The ring is expected to make around £43 million when sold; it weighs 150 carats and is a unique piece of design and technique. It was first presented during a special event at Il Bottaccio, in London, on April 14. It will then pursue its journey to Moscow, Seoul, and Geneva.

Shawish jewellery was displayed during the night and sparkled under pearly Tim Walker-esque trees and crystal chandeliers; entertainment included live music, a contortionist covered in glitter, an auction of special pieces, and, of course, the animated presentation of the ring itself. Needless to say we were delighted to participate to such a historical moment in jewellery’s history.
