The Long Table

The Long TableIf you happen to be out in East London tonight, pop by the last Long Table event. Located on Abbot street in Dalston, this pop-up outdoor night market offers a selection of London’s finest and affordable street food. From Moro’s large choice of tapas to Big Apple’s hot dogs, from The Bowler’s meatballs to Hawksmoor’s burgers (renown for having London’s best meat).

It really feels like being in an Asian night market, but in England. You probably think the big difference is the cold… But we promise the atmosphere will make you forget about it. Besides, there is a big tent with fire pits to keep you warm and some groovy music to get the boogie out of you. Eating and socialising is what The Long Table is all about!

Be there early to avoid the queue, because they are trying to keep the number of people inside at a reasonable level. Or as we did, show up there around 11 p.m. for an after pub pre-night club bite. The music is still going on and there is still plenty of food available.

Definitely one of the best foodie events of the year, thanks to the Michelin-starred chef Nuno Mendes; and if we are lucky, the project will reopen again in April 2012. So, fingers crossed !

From 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
