Cristóbal Balenciaga Museoa
The Balenciaga Museum is on a hilltop overlooking Getaria, in Spain (hometown of Cristobal Balenciaga). It is a large, long, curved spaced; trapezoidal in section, complete with an integrated floor-to-ceiling glass wall.
Inside the building, there are three suspended areas which house the galleries. The interiors: floors, walls, colours and fittings are designed to create a calm, enveloping ambience where natural light is soft and muted.
The Cristobal Balenciaga Museoa collection consists of approximately 1200 pieces. As the collection is contemporary, special attention is given to preventive conservation with a view to minimising deterioration caused by aging, normal wear and tear and enviromental conditions such a temperature, humidity or exposure to light.



Fundation Cristobal Balenciaga was set up to promote, develop and publicise the work and the figure of Cristóbal Balenciaga Eizaguirre and make sure that his contribuition to the world of fashion Haute Couture.
