Versus: Hairy coat

Alexander McQueen and John Galliano are two of the most original and popular names in fashion from 1990 to 2000 and beyond. Both grew up in the british scene and became very popular with their work for established houses, but one important name had them both: Givenchy. In 1996, Alexander McQueen succeeded John Galliano as Creative Director of Givenchy, between controversy when McQueen told media that he hated that job, even when he was for more than 5 years a Designer for the french brand. In 1998, McQueen set up the Haute Couture collection with a very hairy coat as one of the looks. And in 2008, another important fashion name had his own hairy coat version with the popular item: Martin Margiela, along with Sonia Rykiel’s version for the S/S 2009 collection.
