Versus: Miami Vice

Milena Canonero is one of Hollywood’s best costume designers; she created the styles for ‘Marie Antoinette’, ‘Dick Tracy’ and ‘The Hunger’, among other movies. One of her most memorable works includes two tough guys, a tropical place and a dash of 80s style: ‘Miami Vice’. It was in 1984 when TV viewers enjoyed the adventures of Crockett (Don Johnson) and Tubbs (Philip Michael Thomas) for the first time, and the beginning of one of the most unforgettable fashion trends of all times. Two-pieces suits in pastel colours, a t-shirt and loafers without socks was the 80s style for men all over the world. Now in 2012, France’s famous singer Johnny Hallyday channels that era with his new L’Officiel Hommes magazine cover for summer.
