Mode
Versus: On T.V.

Prada has been taking inspiration from the past since forever. Miuccia always surprises with 40′s, 50′s and specially 60′s styles, including prints à la Mondrian, dresses à la New Look and accessories with the perfect Grace Kelly/Audrey Hepburn/Jane Birkin touch. The fall/winter 2011 collection of Prada showed us the reinvention of mod, from cute jumpers to XL sequins in coats and tops. The collection is a huge hit, and magazines like Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar put the clothes in every magazine spread. One of these was featured on Tatler, in the 2011 August edition. ‘Don’t you know who I am’, photographed by Robert Trachtenberg, showed us one of the most popular dresses from this Prada collection, with an upside-down model holding a tv with the head of the legendary Twiggy in it. The past and present mod was a perfect match, but in 1967 the Vogue-based photographer Bern Stern, took a picture of Twiggy herself, dressed in YSL and sitting on a tv with… her head in it.
