When you hear old school one might immediately think about New York. About block parties, break dance, Mcs on their turntables, dj battles, gang fights, people hanging out in the neighboor hoods, playing basket ball or spraying graffities and a million things more.

New york – this is where everything started in the seventies, it is the birthplace of rap, hip hop and old school.
But old school is also a way of being, a mood and a style, a feeling of liberty and a way of thinking about the past. It can be a pair of pair of sneakers, a never forgettable Beastie Boys concert as well as an intimate moment shared with friends.

Argentinian photographer Gustavo Di Mario captured some of these timeless old school moments in the roaring city of New York. Texts by Maria Schoenhofer.
