New creative direction at Maison Martin Margiela.
The always invisible and never identified master of deconstruction has given up the leading role of his eponymous belgium label.
Renzo Rosso, founder and owner of Diesel and since 2002 majority shareholder of Margiela, declared officially but equivocally: "Martin has not been there for a long time. He is here but not here."
He also declared the new direction will be assured by a new design team.
The label that celebrated their 20th anniversary last year with a big review at the Mode Museum in Antwerp has recently also been honored by this fantastic book edited by Rizzoli New York.

Chanel’s new bag collection: coco cocoon
For the launching of their new bag coco cocoon Chanel created a special mini website where you can watch little promotion films featuring model Daul Kim and singer Lily Allen (who is Karl Lagerfeld’s new muse and also had a gig at the end of his SS 2010 show).

Love and Tenderness
For its 120th anniversary the oldest french couture brand Lanvin celebrates its long tradition by reediting its most famous fragrance Arpège, named after the music term arpeggio.
Created in 1927 by the founder Jeanne Lanvin
herself for her daughter Marguerite and reformed in 1993, Alber Elbaz launches a limited edition of Arpège 120 and redesigns the outer packaging of the emblematic art

The beloved bergamot, aldehide, orange bloom and honeysuckle fragrance remains the same, only mother and daughter have been relooked by the grand master Alber himself.

Sølve Sundsbø for Surface to Air:
The renowned Norvegian photographer and former assistant of Nick Knight Sølve Sundsbø who’s work is featured in magazines like i-D, Another Man, Numero and several Vogues turns his hand to design. Together with the creative Parisian label Surface to Air http://www.surfacetoair.com/ he created a limited edition with some of his works printed on dresses, tops and bags. The collection has been launched this summer and is now available online.

Standard will be distributed through Comme des Garçons and Artek’s own retail shops and resellers.
